Richland GOP Convention

I want to thank all the stalwart Republicans who elected me Chairman today!

I look forward to exposing the disastrous plans that the Democrats have for Richland County, South Carolina, and the nation. I am also eager to help you derail those plans and elect Republicans who will work toward real solutions.

Let's get started now! I have lots of productive things that need doing. Contact me now to get involved!

In case you missed my acceptance speech, here it is:

I am honored, and excited, that you have selected me to be your chairman!

I want to thank Lou Nolan for her leadership; Crawford Clarkson, Wanda Forbes, Reverend Slimp, and Dolly Wells for their help with my campaign; Rusty DePass for his advice, and the numerous Republicans who endorsed me.

I would also like to thank my wife and family for putting up with me during the campaign.

I look forward to competing with the Democrats for the soul of this country!

Everyone I have talked to about the economy, whether Republican, Democrat, or Independent, is afraid.

President Obama, or as he is affectionately known in my household, Comrade Obama, is frightening Americans into believing that capitalism does not work.

President Obama says that he has a plan to lead us out of the mess caused by greedy capitalists.

President Obama says the government must heavily regulate the financial sector, so he has compounded Paulson’s panicked errors, forced any bank of significant size to accept government funds, and has taken large equity positions in some.

President Obama says the government must save corporations whose failure would put undue hardship on the American worker, so he has given huge sums of government money to General Motors and Chrysler, and told General Motors to fire its CEO.

President Obama says the government must make sure that the wealthy pay their fair share, and the poor get a rebate, so he will raise taxes on anyone he decides is too wealthy and distribute their wealth to those who do not pay taxes.

President Obama says the government must promote fairness in the media, so he seeks to muzzle conservative talk radio because liberals do not like the topics discussed.

President Obama’s plan is not original. I recently re-read a publication that I would like to quote a few snippets from. This publication advocates the following:

The “centralization of credit in the banks of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.”

The “extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state…in accordance with a common plan.”

“A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.”

The “centralization of the means of communication…in the hands of the state.”

This plan was put forth in 1848 and was authored by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels; it is titled The Communist Manifesto, and it has been proven by history to be a disastrous plan.

Today, I ask your help. We must work together to inspire the citizens of Richland county to reject President Obama’s plan! Together, we must defeat the Democrats and prevent them leading our great nation into ruin!

I can promise you it will be hard work, and sometimes thankless work, but in building our party and promoting our principles, you are also securing the future of your children and grandchildren – and their future is worth every drop of sweat we expend today!
